Pim Point, Bathurst Channel, South West Tasmania
I first visited Port Davey-Bathurst Harbour in the summer of 1992-93 while employed as a trackworker by Tasmania's Parks & Wildlife Service. I carried a camera with me and made photographs when circumstances allowed and the mood took me. Work from that summer was subsequently included in a group show called Between Phenomena: The Panorama and Tasmania, part of the Tasmanian arts festival Ten Days on the Island.
In April of 2005 I went again this time on the Hobart registered fishing boat Matrudan (Master Mark O'May) .
Bathurst Channel is the narrow strip of deep water that connects the inland Bathurst Harbour with the seaward Port Davey.
